To send a parcel from one Moroccan city to another, you have four main options: the post (Amana), a parcel network like CTM Messagerie, an agency or locker network, or an independent courier making the trip. They differ on speed, price, cash on delivery and how the money gets back to you. Here's what each offers, what their published prices say, and how to choose. (If you're sending a parcel *to* Morocco from abroad, this guide isn't for you: it covers deliveries inside the country.)

02The four options in detail

The post: Amana

Amana, the parcel service of Barid Al-Maghrib (Morocco's post), takes parcels up to 31 kg, dropped at an Amana or Al Barid Bank agency and delivered to the door, with a stated 24-hour delivery across 80% of the country and tracking in its app. Its strength is the postal network, which reaches far, small towns included. For cash on delivery, at 12 DH extra, Amana says it pays the cash back the same day. On 21 October 2026, its simulator showed 59 DH up to 5 kg and 121 DH up to 31 kg from Casablanca to Marrakech; the lower 2019 PDF grid still online is out of date.

Parcel networks: CTM Messagerie

CTM Messagerie advertises 120 pickup and distribution points, home pickup, and delivery to an agency or to the door. The price is calculated online from the cities, weight, dimensions and declared value. Handy when both your city and the recipient's have an agency.

Agencies and lockers: Tawssil, Express Relais

You drop the parcel off near you, and the recipient collects it or has it delivered. With Tawssil, drop-off is at a Cash Plus agency: to another city, 50 DH up to 5 kg, 70 DH up to 10 kg and 85 DH up to 20 kg on tawssil.ma, but 45, 65 and 80 DH on cashplus.ma's Tawssil page the same day: ask for the price at the counter. With Express Relais, the price depends on size, from 35 DH (small, to a locker) to 175 DH (extra large, to the door), cash on delivery included.

The independent courier making the trip

The most flexible option: a courier collects the parcel, drives the route and hands it over in person. Often they're making the trip anyway (going home, delivering other parcels on the same road), and their price reflects that. It's also the only option for a parcel too bulky for lockers, with a van.

03How to choose

  • You're in a hurry: a courier leaving today for the destination city.
  • The parcel is bulky or heavy: above 20 kg, forget lockers and look at Amana (up to 31 kg) or a courier with a van.
  • The parcel is valuable: declare its value, keep photos before sending, and choose an option that leaves proof of handover.
  • The recipient pays on delivery: choose an option that collects cash, and decide before sending how the money comes back to you.
  • The recipient is in the south (Guelmim, Laâyoune, Dakhla): check each company's coverage before paying. Tawssil shows a special rate between Laâyoune and Dakhla (60 to 95 DH depending on weight).

04Distances between major cities

To estimate a delivery time or make sense of a price, here are the rough road distances:

Road distances from Casablanca
  1. Casablanca
  2. Rabat≈ 90 km
  3. Marrakech≈ 240 km
  4. Fès≈ 290 to 300 km
  5. Tangier≈ 340 km
  6. Agadir≈ 460 km

Approximate distances. Map: Natural Earth.

A courier who drives there and back empty covers twice these distances: that's why a courier who's already making the trip can offer far less. Our guide for couriers on how to price a delivery details the calculation.

05Cash on delivery between two cities

Within one city, the courier brings your cash back the same evening. Between two cities, that's impossible: you need to agree before sending how the money comes back.

  • With a companythe cash comes back on its schedule — the same day at Amana, according to what it advertises, later with others.
  • With an independent courieragree on a bank transfer or a money-transfer agency, the timing, and who pays the charges. Our guide to handing collected cash back explains how to keep a record of every handover.

06Preparing a parcel that travels

  • A sturdy box, with padding so nothing moves.
  • Fragile items wrapped one by one, marked "fragile" where it can be seen.
  • Two phone numbers on the label: yours and the recipient's, with their neighbourhood and a landmark.
  • Photos of the contents and of the sealed parcel before sending.
  • Nothing dangerous or prohibited: each company publishes a list of what it refuses; read it before sending.

Delivery Center

Sending between two cities with Delivery Center

On Delivery Center, you post the parcel with its departure and arrival cities, its size (1.5 kg minimum) and, if needed, the cash to collect. Independent couriers and delivery companies working in those cities see it and offer their price and vehicle; you choose. The recipient gives the delivery code at the door, which confirms the delivery, and the cash collected comes back to you as agreed. The network covers 151 cities at sign-up, from Tangier to Dakhla.

It depends on the option and the weight. On 21 October 2026: at Tawssil, 45 to 85 DH by weight, dropped at a Cash Plus agency; at Amana, 56 DH up to 1 kg to 121 DH up to 31 kg; at CTM Messagerie, 58.77 DH for 2 kg to 125.49 DH for 20 kg, collected at the agency; at Express Relais, 35 to 175 DH depending on size. With an independent courier, it's the price they offer you.

How long does it take to send a parcel between two cities?

Amana states 24 hours across 80% of the country, Tawssil 24 to 48 hours depending on the destination, and CTM Messagerie's calculator 2 days from Casablanca to Marrakech. E-commerce delivery companies generally state 24 to 72 hours depending on the zone, and up to 96 hours for remote areas. A courier leaving the same day can deliver within the day.

Can I send a cash-on-delivery parcel to another city?

Yes: Amana, Express Relais, e-commerce delivery companies and independent couriers all allow it. What changes is how your money comes back, and when.

Can I hand a parcel to a coach or shared-taxi driver?

Many people do in a pinch, but there's no tracking, no proof of handover and no recourse if it's lost. For a valuable parcel, choose an option that leaves a record.
