3,422 DHthe gross monthly minimum wage in 2026, an employed courier's floor

Dated, sourced figures

In 2026, an employed courier in Morocco mostly earns between 3,000 and 4,000 DH a month going by published job ads, close to the minimum wage (3,422.72 DH gross). On a meal app, Glovo puts the average full-time rider's income at 6,300 DH a month, before tips and before fuel; striking riders, for their part, talk about a base rate of 6 DH per delivery. On your own account, you earn what you charge minus what your road costs. Here are the figures, where they come from, and how to read them.

The three don't compare directly: a 3,500 DH wage carries no road costs when the employer provides the bike, while an app rider's 6,300 DH still has to pay for fuel, maintenance and insurance.

02Employed couriers: what job ads say

The ads that give a figure sit around the minimum wage. These are the ones that stated a wage, read in October 2026:

Monthly wages stated in courier job ads, 2026
  • Temp agency courier, Rabat4,000 DH
  • Company motorbike, Rabat3,500 to 4,000 DH
  • Driver with a B licence, Casablanca3,200 DH
  • Motorbike courier, permanent, Casablanca3,000 to 3,500 DH

Ads posted on Indeed and OneJob between February and October 2026, read on 21 October 2026. For a range, the bar shows the bottom of it. An ad doesn't always say whether the amount is gross or net.

Three things to know when you read these ads:

  • The motorbike is often provided.Several ads say the bike belongs to the company: you pay neither for the vehicle nor, usually, for the fuel.
  • Car and van jobs rarely state the pay. Most say "negotiable": ask what the wage is, and whether it's gross or net, before the interview.
  • An ad below 3,422 DH is probably quoting net pay.The minimum wage is a gross figure; after the employee's contributions, about 3,190 DH is left.

03The floor: the 2026 minimum wage

Minimum wage = 17.92 DH × 191 hours = 3,422.72 DH gross a month

Since 1 January 2026, no employee in Morocco's non-farm private sector can be paid less than 17.92 DH an hour. On the standard 191 hours a month, that's 3,422.72 DH gross, and about 3,190 DH net once the employee's social security and health insurance share is taken off. An employed courier is entitled to the minimum wage, whatever the vehicle.

04App riders: meals and groceries

On a meal app such as Glovo, there's no wage: the app pays you per delivery, and you work as an auto-entrepreneur. The figures available come from two sides that don't say the same thing:

App riders' earnings, depending on who's talking
average monthly income of a full-time rider, before tips, according to Glovo
6,300 DH
of fuel a month to come out of it, according to Glovo
1,500 DH
base rate per delivery, according to striking riders
6 DH

Glovo Morocco, through its managing director, in October 2024; striking riders, in September 2025.

  • What Glovo saysin October 2024, its managing director put the average full-time rider's income at 6,300 DH a month, plus tips worth about 20% of that, with about 1,500 DH of fuel to pay: by his account, at least 5,000 DH net.
  • What riders sayin September 2025, striking Glovo riders in Casablanca protested a base rate of 6 DH for a 4 km delivery, which covers neither fuel nor maintenance, and asked for a higher base rate, better night pay and payment for cancelled orders.
  • What's changed sincein July 2025, in its settlement with the Competition Council, Glovo committed to paying its self-employed riders about 31 million DH more a year, subject to conditions.

The truth of your income lies somewhere in between: it depends on your hours, your city and the number of orders. To compare the apps that hire riders, read our guide to delivery apps in Morocco.

05Independent couriers: your price minus your road

On your own account, nobody sets your wage: you earn the difference between what you charge and what each job costs. Using our pricing guide's example, a day on a motorbike looks like this:

A day on a motorbike, using our pricing guide's example
  • 8 jobs at 31 DH248 DH
  • Road: 8 × 7 DH− 56 DH
  • Left over, for your time and yearly costs≈ 190 DH

The guide's assumptions: 31 DH per job, 7 DH of road per job, fuel at 15 DH a litre.

That 190 DH isn't net profit: you still have to pay your insurance, the annual vehicle tax, your phone, the heavy wear on the vehicle and your health contribution (at least 1,200 DH a year as an auto-entrepreneur). And it isn't a promise: everything depends on the parcels available in your cities. To redo the sum with your own figures, read our guide to pricing a delivery.

06By vehicle: motorbike, car or van

MotorbikeCarVan
Employed (2026 ads)3,000 to 4,000 DH a month, bike often providedpay rarely stated; 3,200 DH for a B-licence driver in Casablancapay rarely stated
Road cost on your own account (our pricing guide's assumption)≈ 0.70 DH per km≈ 1.60 DH per km≈ 2 DH per km
Typical workparcels in town, mealsrounds of several parcels, trips between citiesbulky items, furniture, appliances
  • A motorbike costs the least per kilometre, and it's what most employers and meal apps are looking for.
  • A car costs more per kilometre, but it wins on rounds: three parcels on one route cost far less each than a single parcel.
  • A van costs the most per kilometre, but it takes jobs few couriers can do: that's where a higher price is justified.

07What pushes your earnings up, or down

  • Groupingseveral parcels going the same way means a road paid for several times over.
  • Your citiesthe bigger the city, the more parcels; two neighbouring cities often beat one.
  • Your hoursthe peaks (evenings for meals, weekdays for parcels) fill your days.
  • Your reputationconfirmed deliveries and good ratings get you chosen, even when you aren't the cheapest.
  • The costs people forgetvehicle wear, insurance, your phone and days without work all have to be paid for too.

08Gross, net, and what's really left

  • Employed: your net is your gross minus your social security and health insurance contributions. At the minimum wage, 3,422.72 DH gross becomes about 3,190 DH net.
  • Auto-entrepreneur (app rider or independent): what's left is your turnover minus fuel, maintenance, insurance, your 1% tax and your health contribution, which starts at 300 DH a quarter. The cash you collect for a sender isn't part of your turnover. It's all in our guide to the auto-entrepreneur status for couriers.

10Frequently asked questions

What is a courier's salary in Morocco?

Employed, mostly between 3,000 and 4,000 DH a month in 2026, going by the job ads that give a figure. The legal minimum is the minimum wage: 3,422.72 DH gross a month, about 3,190 DH net.

How much does a Glovo rider earn in Morocco?

In October 2024 Glovo put the average full-time rider's income at 6,300 DH a month, before tips, with about 1,500 DH of fuel to pay. In September 2025, striking riders protested a base rate of 6 DH per delivery. Real income depends on your hours and your city.

How much does a self-employed courier earn in a day?

It depends on your prices and the number of parcels. Using our pricing guide's example, eight motorbike jobs at 31 DH, with 7 DH of road each, leave about 190 DH for the day before your yearly costs. That's a calculation, not a promise.

Is an employed courier declared to social security?

Yes: your employer must declare you to the CNSS, which covers you for illness, maternity, disability and old age, and pays family allowances. An app rider or an independent courier pays in themselves, as an auto-entrepreneur.

Do tips count as income?

They count towards what you earn, but don't expect them to be regular. Glovo put them at about 20% of its full-time riders' average income in 2024.
